Mobile Intranet

Framtiden är här och den är mobil säger “alla”. Vi vet inte riktigt om framtiden har anlänt, då undersökningen säger att endast 5% har en mobilversion av sitt intranät. Och 1% säger att det inte fungerar.

Enterprise mobility is quickly moving from pilots and proof-of-concepts to delivering key business functionality for staff when they’re away from their desks.

Last year after running one of my full-day enterprise mobility workshops, I received an email from an organisation about mobile design.

I have an uncle who is now a semi-retired “postie” (Australian slang for the people who deliver the mail). He loves his job, and he’s been a postie for a very long time.

Spurred on by an article about devices as Corporately Owned Personally

At one of the international events I’ve been at over the last three weeks, I was talking about enterprise mobility. After I was finished, someone in the audience asked me the question:

Did you just get the question from your senior manager about when all the employees can use the intranet on their smartphones and tablets?

Mobile devices are everywhere, and whether we like it or not, working with SharePoint sites can suddenly turn into working with mobile sites.

Enterprise software applications aren’t “designed”. At best, they’re “developed”, but often they’re just “built”.
